What Is a 30 Hour Job?
A 30 Hour Job is one that is flexible in its hours and supports a person who does not want (or is not able) to work 40 hours per week or more. A 30 Hour Job is not meant to strictly describe 30 hours of work per week. Just as a "9 to 5" job may sometimes entail more than 40 hours of work per week and work outside of those hours, a 30 hour job simply describes one that promotes the value of rest and conscious, focused work.
A job that has flexible working hours, a company that only works 4 days per week, one that works in a results oriented work environment, and an organization that accommodates employees who want to work less can all be examples of 30 Hour Jobs.
In short, if a company supports employees working less than 40 hours per week for any reason – with or without a reduction in pay – it can be considered a 30 Hour Job.
